Commercial Plumbing

Businesses can’t afford plumbing downtime. We handle everything from backflow testing and maintenance contracts to restaurant drain service and new construction rough-ins.

Water
Quality

If your water smells, tastes off, or leaves buildup on everything — there’s a fix. We install whole-home filtration, water softeners, HALO systems, and treat well water at the source.

Water
Heaters

No hot water is never convenient. We repair, replace, and install both tank and tankless water heaters — usually same day, and always with upfront pricing.

Pumps

Sump pumps, well pumps, ejector pumps — we install, repair, and replace all of them. Don’t wait for a pump failure to become a flooded basement or a dry tap.

Gas Line Work Done Right the First Time

Gas line repairs and installations aren’t a job for an unlicensed contractor or a DIY fix. Natural gas work requires a licensed plumber who knows Illinois code, pulls the right permits, and performs a proper pressure test before the line goes back into service. Done correctly, it’s safe and reliable. Done wrong, it’s a serious hazard.

We handle gas line repair, gas leak detection, and new gas line installation for residential and commercial customers throughout Metro East Illinois, including Madison, Bond, Clinton, Montgomery, and Macoupin Counties. Whether you need a leak repaired, a new gas line run for a stove or outdoor grill, or a gas line added during a remodel, we do it to code and back the work with our 1-year warranty.

Priority Plumbing Services is licensed, bonded, and insured in Illinois (License No. 055-045366) and EPA certified. If you smell gas in your home or business, don’t wait, leave the building and call your gas company first, then call us at (618) 207-1647.

Signs You May Have a Gas Line Problem

Natural gas is odorless on its own, gas companies add mercaptan, which smells like rotten eggs, specifically so leaks can be detected. If you smell it inside your home, treat it as a gas leak. Leave the building without using any switches or open flames, call your gas company from outside, then call us.

Urgency: Leave the building immediately. Call your gas company, then (618) 207-1647.

A hissing or whistling sound near a gas line, meter, or appliance connection, even without a smell, can indicate a leak at a fitting or connection point. Gas leaks aren’t always strong enough to smell right away, especially in well-ventilated spaces.

Urgency: Treat as a potential leak. Ventilate, leave the area, and call.

A dead or dying patch of grass in an otherwise healthy yard, especially over a known gas line route, can indicate an underground gas leak. Natural gas displaces oxygen in the soil, killing grass and plants above the leak point.

Urgency: Call your gas company and a licensed plumber, outdoor gas line leaks require prompt attention.

A furnace, stove, or water heater that won’t stay lit, has a yellow or orange flame instead of blue, or performs inconsistently may have insufficient gas pressure due to a supply line issue, a partially closed shutoff valve, or a problem upstream at the regulator.

Urgency: Schedule soon — appliance performance issues tied to gas supply can worsen and affect safety.

Renovation work, landscaping, or any digging near your home can nick or shift buried gas lines without anyone realizing it. If you’ve had work done in or around your home recently and notice any of the above symptoms afterward, call us for an inspection.

Urgency: Call soon — disturbed gas lines may develop slow leaks that worsen over time.

Types of Gas Line Work We Handle

We locate gas leaks at fittings, connections, valves, and supply lines using proper detection methods, then repair them correctly and pressure test the line before returning it to service. Both interior and exterior gas line leak repair throughout Metro East Illinois.

Adding a gas stove to a kitchen, running a line to a fireplace, hooking up an outdoor grill or fire pit, or adding gas service to a new space. We size the line correctly for the appliance load, pull required permits, and run the installation to Illinois code.

Corroded fittings, aging black iron pipe, damaged flex connectors, and leaking shutoff valves. We repair what can be repaired and replace sections or full lines when the condition warrants it, with a pressure test at completion on every job.

Restaurant gas line repair and installation, commercial kitchen appliance connections, gas line work for commercial HVAC equipment, and gas service for commercial builds and remodels. Licensed commercial gas line work throughout Metro East Illinois.

Benefits of Hiring a Licensed Gas Line Plumber

In Illinois, gas line work must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter. Unlicensed gas line repairs won’t pass inspection, may void your homeowner’s insurance, and, more importantly, may not be safe. Our Illinois plumbing license (No. 055-045366) covers gas line work, and we pull permits when required so the job is done to code.

Every gas line repair or installation we complete ends with a pressure test before the line goes back into service. This confirms the repair holds and the system is leak-free, not something to skip, and not something every contractor does. We do it on every job.

A gas line undersized for its appliance load causes pressure drops, poor appliance performance, and potential safety issues. We calculate BTU demand and size new gas lines correctly for the specific appliances they’ll serve like stoves, fireplaces, outdoor grills, water heaters, generators, and more.

A leaking fitting or a corroded connector doesn’t always mean the whole line needs replacing. We assess what’s actually failing and repair it when that’s the right call. Full line replacement is recommended when the pipe condition or layout genuinely warrants it, not as a default.

Gas line work done correctly stays done. Every repair and installation we complete is backed by our 1-year warranty and 100% satisfaction guarantee. If something isn’t right after we leave, we come back and address it. For gas work specifically, getting it right matters more than almost anything else we do.

Gas Line Questions

What do I do if I smell gas in my home?

Leave the building immediately. Don’t flip light switches, use your phone inside, or create any spark. Once you’re outside and away from the building, call your gas company’s emergency line first, they’ll shut off service. Then call us at (618) 207-1647. Do not re-enter until both the gas company and a licensed plumber have cleared the building.

Yes. New gas line installation for kitchen stoves, outdoor grills, fire pits, fireplaces, and whole-home generators is straightforward work for a licensed plumber. We assess your existing gas supply capacity, size the new line correctly, and run the installation to code with a permit where required.

The most common signs are a rotten egg or sulfur smell, a hissing sound near a gas line or appliance, dead vegetation over a buried gas line, or appliances that won’t stay lit. Any one of these warrants a call. If you’re unsure, treat it as a potential leak, it’s not worth guessing.

Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of the damage. Sudden accidental damage to a gas line is often covered. Gradual corrosion or wear typically is not. We provide documentation of our work that you can submit to your insurer, and because we’re licensed and pull permits, the work meets the standards most insurers require.

Cost varies based on the scope, a single fitting repair runs far less than a new gas line run across the house. We provide a written estimate before any work begins so you know the cost upfront. Financing is available through Wisetack for larger jobs.

Yes. Restaurant gas line repair and installation, commercial kitchen appliance connections, and gas line work for commercial facilities throughout Metro East Illinois. Licensed, permitted, and pressure-tested on every commercial job, same standard as residential.
